Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 30, 2025
Thank you for using Hide Listings (the "Extension"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension handles and how we protect your privacy. Our guiding principle is to collect the absolute minimum information necessary for the extension to function.
1. Information Handled Locally (All Users)
For all users (both Free and Pro), the Extension stores some data directly on your computer using the browser's local storage. We, the developers, have no access to this information. This data includes:
- List of Hidden Items: When you hide an item, the extension saves its numerical ID, title, price, and image URL. This is stored locally so the extension can remember what to hide and so you can manage your hidden items.
- Pro Status Flag: A simple true/false value is stored locally to indicate whether your Pro plan is active. This determines if the hiding limit is applied.
2. Information We Collect (Pro Users Only)
We do not collect any personally identifiable information from free users. If you choose to purchase and activate a Pro subscription, we collect the following information during the one-time activation process:
- Google User ID: A unique, non-personally-identifying ID provided by Chrome's Identity API. We use this to link your license to your account.
- Email Address: Your primary Google account email address. We use this to verify you are the owner of the license.
This information is used exclusively for account management, license verification, and subscription status checks. We do not sell, share, or use this information for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
To provide payment and subscription services, we use reputable third-party providers. You must agree to their privacy policies when using our Pro services.
- Paddle: Our payment processor for Pro subscriptions. When you purchase, you provide payment details directly to Paddle. We do not receive or store your sensitive payment information (like credit card numbers). We only receive a confirmation of your purchase and a customer ID from them.
- Supabase: Our backend service provider. When you activate a Pro license, we securely transmit your Google User ID and email address to our Supabase database. This is used to store and manage your license key and subscription status.
4. Your Control Over Your Data
You have complete control over your data. You can delete all data stored by the Extension at any time by:
- Clearing Browser Storage: You can clear the local storage for the extension through your browser's settings.
- Uninstalling the Extension: Uninstalling the Extension will permanently remove all of its locally stored data from your device.
To request the deletion of your account information from our Supabase database, please contact us at the email below.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy in the future if the Extension's functionality changes. We will post the new policy on our website and update the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
6. Contact Us
